Undeterred by the unseasonably wet weather in August, the annual BBQ went ahead with a good turnout of about 30 members eating indoors at Battle Barn Farm. Trevor put on a mineral display " A load of Balls" that showed some 50 minerals adopting a spherical crystalline habit.

HDGS was well represented at the Hastings Old Town festival in August by a display and talk on local geology and fossils by Ken Brooks: 150 visitors were recorded during the day at the History House and Ken talked to a packed house of 47 (including the Mayor of Hastings) in the afternoon.
